Meet Dr. Taina Turcasso, BSc, ND, RM
Midwife, Naturopathic Physician
Dr. Taina Turcasso grew up in Fernie, BC and always dreamed of coming back and starting her own family practice someday. As her career evolved towards naturopathic medicine and midwifery, she didn't know if that dream would be possible but the stars all aligned to bring her back to create a small, intentional practice providing family-centered midwifery care as well as taking on a small caseload of naturopathic patients looking for support with preconception, fertility support, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause as well as general well-women care.
In addition to her special interest and experience in general women's health and pediatric care, Taina is expanding her training to include support for pelvic health. She is looking forward to providing a tailored approach to wellness for your family.

Midwifery Services
Taina is thrilled to be able to offer midwifery services to the Elk Valley and will be providing prenatal, labour and delivery, and postpartum care both in the hospital and in the home. Due to taking on a limited caseload and wanting to accommodate those clients who are happy with their current pregnancy care but are interested in some extra care during the initial postpartum period (up to 6 weeks ), Taina is offering both inclusive midwifery care from prenatal through 6 weeks postpartum AND postpartum care beginning on Day 1 after your delivery. Please specify which option you are interested in when you complete your intake form.
Postpartum
Care
Postpartum care starting with a phone call or clinic visit during pregnancy and then a home or hospital visit the day after your delivery. Taina will see you and your baby (or babies) at home for the first two weeks, working collaboratively with your family doctor, and then in her clinic at four and six weeks.
